We got several quotes from large HVAC companies for replacing all the water damaged duct, the quotes where completely out of our budget! We recently purchased a home in which the previous owners were both very heavy smokers. Although the home had been completed re-carpeted, repainted and sealed with Kilz, and treated for four days with an ozone machine, we still had a strong nicotine smell – especially when we ran our furnace.
We tried duct cleaning but, seriously we are not convinced that they went much beyond the first 6″ of ducting! We decided to get bids on completely replacing all the ducting in our home. Only a few contractors responded to our internet search and after telephone conversations with each of them we invited two of the most responsive and knowledgeable to come look at our home and offer a bid. One of the companies was actually the company that had done the original installation over twelve years ago. They had done a very nice job and we are comfortable that the replacement would have been equally as nice.
What led us to choose Jeremiah of J & M was his sincere interest in making sure that we truly needed the ducts replaced. The other company happily offered a bid and even suggested an additional ‘fresh air system’ for an extra $2-$3,000.
Jeremiah on the other hand was the only contractor who actually crawled under the house and into the attic to inspect the entire system.
He explained clearly what could and should be replaced and wanted us to think about it before making a decision because of the expense of the job.
The two final bids were very close to each other in total cost but what led us to choose J & M was Jeremiah’s personal integrity and thorough review of the work that was required. Our ducts have now been replaced and the air in our home is much cleaner and healthier. J & M did what they said they would do, when they said they would do it for what they said it would cost. We are very pleased with the professionalism and care of their work and highly recommend them for your project.

We recently had Jeremiah retrofit a complete gas system into our home in the country consisting of two gas fireplaces, two free standing gas stoves, a gas cooktop and a BBQ outlet. We already had a large Propane tank on the property for our Shop, which was about 400′ from the house. It turned out to be more cost effective to have Jeremiah install underground gas pipe from the existing tank rather than have an additional propane tank set. J&M Services installed the ventilation pipe for the free standing gas stoves and the two fireplaces. Jeremiah also retrofitted duct work for a kitchen hood vent. We were impressed with Jeremiah’s knowledge of his trade and happy to see him doing something he obviously enjoys. The J&M Services employees were very professional and neat in their work.
